“Anniversary of the war in Iraq: Congenital malformations and cancer on the rise in Iraq’s devastating Basra and Fallujah. (Huffington Post, U.S.)
Ten years after the start of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, doctors in some Iraqi cities are seeing an unusually high number of cancer cases and birth defects in children. Scientists believe that this increase is directly related to the use of depleted uranium and white phosphorous for military attacks on Iraq during the invasion of foreign troops.
On the occasion of the tenth anniversary, Democracy Now! spoke with Dahr Jamail, Al Jazeera reporter, who recently returned from Iraq. Jamail recounts meeting Dr Samira Alani, a doctor in Fallujah with a focus on birth defects.
The doctor said that now in Fallujah often newborns are born with massive birth defects, immune problems, massive central nervous system problems, heart problems, skeletal disorders, children are born with two heads, babies are born with half of their internal organs outside their body, “Cyclops” children literally with one eye – really, really, really horribly creepy types of birth defects.”

Why do people look so strange, yet vaguely familiar – like distant memories floating before my eyes? I stay indoors most of the time, but when I go to the market I go on an observation tour – to keep updated on what’s going on in the material world as I continue to live through mine and observe the events unfolding before my spiritual eyes.
The bile rises. People of the material world look like living reflections of my zombie past… Maasha Allah, I have no difficulty stripping them of their manicured facades to view beautiful souls trapped within egos suffering from ignorance and misguidance…

Allah will then bring everything back into existence through His Mercy and all of creation will be raised to stand in answer before their Lord, about this tiny little small matter, which is in fact the mightiest matter – the difference between the Creator and creation. I asked Allah to purify my faith
So, Allah threw me into the fire.

Yes, I’m swimming in the river of fire, by the Mercy of my Lord and freaking out at how true Allah’s promise is.
Does it hurt to to lose the dross?
Not anymore, alhamdulillah, not anymore… 😉
To be a Muslim in today’s world is to cling onto burning hot coals. Allah threw His friend, Prophet Ibraheem alaihissallam, whose purity of faith Allah praises as being of perfect example, into a fire and commanded the fire ‘Be coolness’ and it obeyed willingly and without option. Because it was programmed to do so under certain precise conditions. Physics.
Ibraheem (as) asked Allah, (paraphrased) ‘It’s not that I don’t believe in You, I just want to know how You do it.’
What an excellent question to have asked God. I seriously love Ibraheem (as)!
So Allah tells him to take four birds and train them to answer to his call. He is then told to release each bird in four directions, north, south, east, west, and after stationing himself atop a central mountain height, call out to the birds.
Programming.

Yes, that’s how the ‘Light is switched on’ and yes, that’s how the connection is repaired and yes, that’s when you face the awesome level of realization that a part of you is a part of Allah.
That’s the tricky part. One can choose to go beyond and find out deeper truths, or one can indulge in beach parties and drown of ignorance due to idiotic arrogant pride.
I see many stuck at this spot. Some don’t know how to proceed. I didn’t know how to proceed. I was dumbfounded!
So what did Sona do?
I kept my feet on the ground and let my spirit soar into the heights – like an eagle – and I looked down from high above with mercy and compassion at myself in the material world… I then came gracefully back down to earth and prostrated my physical and spiritual self before Allah and said, “Yes, I’m certain about the difference between You and me.
You are all powerful, I am not. I am not independent. I’m dependent.” And I asked for more.
The journey became seriously interesting from this point. I wanted to meet Allah. And I was willing to swim through fire if that was part of the terrain. It was a faith born of certainty due to the simple physics involved.
Will I make it?
I don’t know.
How am I faring?

Human rights (HR) abuses against one minority can be written off with HR abuses against another – especially when the ‘other’ happens to be Muslim!
Don’t be mistaken – the slaughter of Sri Lankan Muslims WILL take place as scheduled.
It’s a shrewd manoeuvre to join hands with the US in its ‘war against Islam.’ How could the US possibly fault any government for doing as it does – attacking Islam and Muslims?
The question is, will Sri Lankan Muslims go to the sacrificial altar like docile, patriotic lambs – and die for the land of their birth? The first batch will, yes. They will die, because it will come upon them unexpectedly – like it did to the Tamils in 1983.
This time, the battle cry of the thugs will be ‘Gonibillo avilla’ – not ‘Koti avilla.’

Tossing wet-look, long hair, bare-bodied with a two-piece saffron-dyed loincloth, Jesus (pbuh) is scheduled to take a page out of the Buddha’s book, and destroy (yes – destroy) Dajjal in the most non-violent and peaceful manner possible – with his breath.
Yep, it will be his breath that does the trick.

The objective is not to preach or spoon-feed you. Nor am I asking you to embrace Islam. The intention is to rekindle interest in spiritual matters… to urge you to look to your neighbour’s religion with fresh, open eyes and make a genuine effort to learn about it. Of course, I put forward the Qur’aan and Islam, but only in the context that’s due to it. The Qur’aan IS the Final Revelation from God (Allah). It ties together EVERTHING from the past, tells you how to deal with the present and how to better the future.
As long as we stay divided, there will be no unity. As long as we try to unite on baseless grounds – for the sake of ‘showing the world’ that we are not racists, there will be no unity. It has to be on solid grounds in order for it to be sincere. But HOW, you may wail…
The Qur’aan highlights and instructs Mankind and Jinn on what the common thread of truth is in EACH of the religions of the past. It tells you WHAT to unite on – in order that you may retain your unique identity whilst still being one integrated unified body. It celebrates diversity.
Allah says in the glorious Qur’aan:
“O ye who believe! Let not a folk deride a folk who may be better than they (are), nor let women (deride) women who may be better than they are; neither defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. Bad is the name of lewdness after faith. And whoso turneth not in repentance, such are evil-doers.
O ye who believe! Shun much suspicion; for lo! some suspicion is a crime. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Ye abhor that (so abhor the other)! And keep your duty (to Allah). Lo! Allah is Relenting, Merciful.
O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! the noblest of you, in the sight of Allah, is the best in conduct. Lo! Allah is Knower, Aware.” [Al Qur’aan 49:11]
The sickness that afflicts Mankind as a whole at the macro level is the same sickness that afflicts the individual at the micro level – Split Personality Disorder, Dementia and Bipolar Active Depression (BAD), and so forth. The Qur’aan is the healing cure for these ailments. Indeed, it is a Mercy from our Lord – it is the cure for racism.
If you don’t know how to meditate and calm the mind and get to the root of falsehood, go to the teachings of the Buddha. Need help with how to be patient and thankful through trials? Take the example of Ayub [Job] (AS). Want to know how to purify your faith? Why of course – study the life of Ibraheem [Abraham] (AS). Clueless how to be a just leader and statesman? Follow the example of Muhammad (SAW). Want to know how to start a peaceful revolution in which you rebuke the demons in wrongdoers and get nailed to the cross, but saved just in time – why who better than JCS [Isa (AS)]? And so on and so forth.
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them.” [Matthew 5:17]

Understanding Divine Wisdom
So, why oh why, did Allah reveal this glorious Qur’an to such a … (nose wrinkled in genuine dismay) … barbaric people – the Arabs?
Answer: When the decedents of Prophet Ishaaq [Isaac] alaihissallaam (AS), failed to honour their covenant with Allah, Allah gave the task over to their lowly brethren – the people of Prophet Ishmaeel [Ismail] (AS).
It was a tight slap in the face – pat-taas!
Although the most barbaric people on the face of the earth, they were also the most capable folk to be entrusted with protecting the Speech of Allah (Qur’aan) – literally with their lives. So that goody-two-shoes types like you and me, could have access to the Noble Qur’aan – 1,400 years later – across the shores and far away in another land – in the comfort of our modern homes.
Yet another significance, in the glorious Qur’aan being revealed to the worst of people, is that in that alone is a sign – for those who think, ponder and reflect. If the Qur’aan can raise the ‘worst’ to the ‘best,’ then it IS the solution for you and me.
Covenant Between Friends
The slaughter of the Arabs is a done deal: Ibraheem [Abraham] (AS) – ‘the friend of God (Kaleelullah) – made this covenant with Allah donkeys’ ears ago – when he agreed to sacrifice his eldest son, Ishmaeel (AS).
The Prophet, sallallaahu alaihi wassallaam (SAW), was explicit – once the sword was raised against the Arabs, it would not be put down.
What irony – the Arabs are dying today in fulfilment of a covenant with their Lord – to run the race and deliver the Qur’aan to the rest of the world – the very people who are killing them… so that they may receive guidance and restore balance to the world.
May Allah show mercy to the Arabs and Moors and reward them for their spectacular role and bless and raise the family of Ibraheem (AS) and Muhammad (SAW) to the promised ranks. And may revert Muslims fulfil their role – in taking the baton from them and sprinting the last lap to breast the tape and establish Islam (peace) on earth once again. Ameen.
In fulfilment of the covenant, it WILL be the progeny of Ibraheem (AS) – from BOTH his sons, Ishmaeel and Ishaaq (AS) who will restore balance to the world – Jesus [Isa] (AS) as king and Muhammad, the guide [Mahdi] (AS) as Imam.
Understanding the Speech of Allah
Those who suffer from manic bipolar activity and take the Qur’aan 100% literally and those who swing to the other extreme and take it 100% metaphorically, are both offside – gona kanuway (bull in the drain).
Take the Middle Path and the broader view – perceive the metaphor in the literal and the literal in the metaphor… The various grey tones between black and white… It requires reading and meditating, reading and meditating… remember; read The Opening – Al Fatiha – for indeed, Allah says it opens up the passageway through the seven samavat (seven stratospheres) straight up to Allah’s Footstool [Arsh]…
As the last and final Revelation from Allah, Allah addresses Mankind and Jinn in one message for all. It embraces ALL the Prophets and Messengers and Revealed Scriptures (known and unknown) that came before it. It is the answer to unification and the cure to racism. Indeed, it is a merciful healing from the One God, besides Whom, none has the right to be worshipped.
Don’t take my word for it. Listen to what Allah has to say to you first, before going on a trip about what ‘they say’ ‘you say’ and ‘I say.’

The End Times (Akhirus Zamaan) is the era of the battle between energies.
I anticipate the prophesied one-third of the army that proceeds to free the world from the clutches of tyranny will comprise those who migrate from the four corners of the earth – having mastered their respective disciplines and reached enlightenment. They will unite at the appointed location and when they set out to take the physical and spiritual battle to the Negative energy on earth, not a land in their path will be left oppressed. Hands down, Allah IS the talk of the world today.

Allah’s deen – Islam – natural way of life for His creation, His Messenger, Muhammad, sallallaahu alaihi wassallam (SAW), as well as the entire Muslim Ummah (community) as one body, is on the media operating table without any anaesthetics.
Side by side, on the adjoining tables, autopsies are being carried out on the corpses of the Jews and Christians… Recently, certain misguided Buddhists forcibly insisted their fresh corpse be autopsied too. They want equality for all. So the media brought in more spots to accommodate the latest arrival.
Still, nothing compares to that irresistible spectacle of peering at a living body operated on without anaesthetics… The spin doctors are baffled – how come it won’t die?
Yippee! The spotlight is on us – yeah we made it – we are stars!
Alhamdulillah.
We are always given centre stage, even when we are nowhere on the scene. We are spoken of – non-stop – every day. The media have their magnifying glasses and CCTV cameras covering us 24/7 and they provide a live ball-by-ball commentary about us to the rest of the world. They are selective about their reports and highlight only the juicy stuff… and when there is no juice in the stuff, they manufacture synthetic juice to lubricate their stuff and feed it to their hungry audiences, who lap it up thirstily with slavish gratitude.
It’s hard not to grimace whilst someone is examining your spleen and another cutting into your heart… whilst still many more – interns, nurses and doctors – fidget here and there in a feeding frenzy orgy of blood and gore…
They are scientists trying to find the G-spot to kill it. Audiences usually ‘understand’ when doctors and their medical staff take a bite now and then and swallow it with relish.

ET always wanted to go home… to his people…
I found home within the Muslim Ummah of Muhammad (SAW). They held the book of truth – Al Qur’aan. Whether they practised it or not, didn’t matter. Whether they mocked me or treated me like a step-daughter or not, didn’t matter.
Whether the rest of the world gagged and laughed at me or not, didn’t matter.
From the book of truth, I leant, amongst numerous unending useful things, the meaning of compassion and mercy. How to be humble and repent with sincerity and how to forgive through compassionate understanding – based on justice and fairness – and therefore wise…
I forgave my mother out of pure and simple compassion
How could I ask Allah to forgive me, if I wasn’t willing to forgive?
I won’t bring anything against you Mater, on Yaumul Qiyyamah (Day of Reckoning) in sha Allah.
So, do I love my parents?
It’s a love once drenched in sorrow –
A barren land…
I let go of the title to that land.
I don’t own it anymore.
I love Allah
I love my Prophet (SAW).
I love myself.
I love my maternal grandma.
I love those who’ve wronged me, but NOT their deeds.
I’m with my people – the people I love – though not all of them describe themselves as Muslims. That’s alright with me. I look upon them as Muslims – because their conduct is akin to the descriptions given in the Qur’aan with regard to recognising a Muslim. These people are Muslims without their conscious knowledge.
Just as I once was.
May Allah’s greatest blessings be upon all of you.

This effectively made me embrace Judaism and Christianity and all the Abrahamic faiths, and all the Messengers and Prophets of (God) Allah. I love the Gautama Buddha and his teachings and I endeavour to follow him as best I can. He too is mentioned in Islamic scripture. I have employed the tools of the Buddha’s philosophy to get to the font of truth and falsehood in my mind – and to understand Islam and the times we live in.
Indeed, I embraced Buddhism too.
I have drawn assistance and moulded myself from other philosophies too – too many to mention, but I cannot leave out Bruce Lee, so I say ‘Os’ to my Senseis; Nanda Siriwardene (Masutatsu Oyama Kyokushin-Kai) included. I am beltless, but that’s not the point. When credit is due, it must be given.
To all Jewish, Hindu and ‘other’ religious friends, who believe in The Creator, I greet you:

I did not find anything to employ from Judaism, Hinduism or any ‘other’ religion, although I have perceived the clear thread of truth running through them.
In my humble view, the Buddha did an excellent job fixing Hinduism. Four-hundred thousand or so deities were reduced to ‘no deity’ needed to correct your life.
Way to go Siddhartha, O’ Gautama Buddha, is all I will say.
